Are you getting tons and tons of junk email? So much that it makes it hard for you to sort the wheat from the chaff? A SpamAssassin enabled email account with MailDrop filtering you could breath a sigh of relief again.
SpamAssassin will take a look at the emails themselves and attempt to deduct, using special rules, whether the email is junk and assign a value to each rule the email breaks. As standard on our server, messages that are getting a spam score of 5.0 or over are automatically labelled as spam and an explanation and spam rule breaking list is added to the top of that email before it is delivered to you. With this standard setup you could tell your mail client using mail rules (if it has them) that it needs to be filtered into a different mailbox so you can go through it later. This is fine for those who have the time and inclination to do so.
For those who are too busy to do that sort of thing we have a great solution. For a small setup and annual fee per mailbox we can also set a higher score threshold of your choice (we advise 7.0) for any emails with a spam score equal to or above that threshold to be thrown away using a maildrop filter with spamassassin on your mailbox.
Please note that there is an extremely slight chance of false positives however the rules we add are tested thoroughly by the "Spamassassin custom rule emporium" before being added.
It is your responsibility to assess the spam scores that are actually spam on your account and inform us of email addresses that get passed as spam that are not actually spam and their score so we can estimate the correct maildropping score for you
Please note that we are NOT an open relay and support the POP before SMTP protocol across our mailserver so, because of this, we have turned off spam checking of scripts on our webserver so you will NOT miss that important enquiry that went through your website because it became a spamassassin false positive
